Description
No. 24 Cotham Road is a house built around 1840, constructed from limestone ashlar with rendered lateral stacks and a pantile hipped roof. It features a double-depth plan and is designed in the Italianate style. The building has two storeys and a basement, with a symmetrical front that includes rusticated quoins, a plinth, a sill band, a plat band, and a frieze beneath deep overhanging eaves. A large portico is supported by columns with acanthus capitals, leading to semicircular arches with scrolled keys and a two-leaf door featuring two oval panels. The windows have architraves, with console cornices on the ground floor and slightly battered, eared architraves on the second floor, containing 6/6-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have shutters.
