Description

A pair of attached houses located on Pembroke Road in Clifton, Bristol, dating from circa 1850. The houses are rendered with limestone dressings, featuring a shared party wall and lateral chimney stacks. They are built on a double-depth plan and designed in a Neoclassical style.

Each house stands two storeys high with a basement, and has a three-window front. The symmetrical facade is characterized by giant pilasters placed between the window bays, extending to a bracketed cornice and parapet, and a moulded pilaster marking the party wall. Entrance porches are located at each end. The right-hand porch is a single-storey structure with pilasters supporting an entablature, leading to a two-panel door. The left-hand entrance has been extended in the 20th century both above and to the side. A 20th-century pent roof covers a basement extension at the front. The windows are 6/6-pane sashes, each with an architrave. The interior has not been inspected.
