Description

The steps, posts, and flanking walls at the north-west end at the junction with Park Road in Bristol date back to the 18th century. They are constructed from pennant rubble and ashlar. The feature includes 10 steps with tooled risers and coped flanking walls, accompanied by parallel rubble walls on either side extending approximately 30 meters east from the entrance to Park Road. There are two sets of two posts with railings on each side of two free-standing posts at the top of the steps. These steps serve as the entrance to Wickham Glen, which was part of the old Gloucester Road, and represent an uncommon and significant element in Bristol's historic landscape.
