Description

This is a late 18th-century house, known as Beaufort Lodge, situated on Park Road in Stapleton, Bristol. The house is rendered with limestone ashlar ridge stacks and has a hidden roof. It follows a double-depth plan and is three storeys high, with a single-bay range. The original right-hand door has been blocked and replaced with a 20th-century window, which is sheltered by a small flat canopy and sits below a parapet. A full-height canted bay features flush 6/6-pane sash windows and a dentil cornice that lines up with the coping. On the left-hand return side, there is a 6-panel door, an 8/8-pane sash window, and a tall stained-glass stair light. The interior of the house has not been inspected.

The property is surrounded by a ramped rubble wall featuring spear-headed railings and a gate, supported by Pennant stone piers. The words “BEAUFORT COTTAGE” are painted on the piers, and a boot scraper is affixed to project outwards.
