The exterior is roughcast with a pantile roof and a slate-roofed porch, featuring a brick ridge stack. The house is three stories high and has a two-window range. There is a door to the left, which is sheltered by a small porch with pointed slates. The windows have flush sashes, with 6/6 panes on the ground floor and 3/6 panes on the first floor. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported to include two-panel shutters and soffits. Belmont Cottage is attached to Rose Cottage.
