Description
Grantham House is an attached house, now divided into flats, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features a rendered exterior with limestone dressings and a slate hipped roof. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with an attic, presenting a two-window range. The front façade is parapeted and includes a right-hand door flanked by pilasters and adorned with triglyphs beneath a pediment. This door is set within a semicircular arch that has a plate-glass fanlight above it, leading to a four-panel door.
Prominently, there is a wide mid-19th century two-storey canted bay window, which has a dentil cornice and plate-glass sash windows. The second-floor features 3/3-pane sashes with architraves, and a hipped dormer is located above. At the rear, there are semicircular-arched stair lights on the first and second floors, embellished with interlacing heads. Inside, the entrance hall contains a dogleg stair.
