Description
Numbers 88, 90, and 92 on St Michael's Hill are a terrace of three houses that have been converted into flats. They were built in the late 18th century and altered in the mid-19th century. The buildings have a double-depth plan and feature a late Georgian style. Each house has three storeys and an attic, with two windows for Nos. 88 and 92, and one window for No. 90. They are connected by a continuous cornice and parapet, rusticated pilasters, sill bands, left-hand doorways, and a single hipped dormer.
No. 88 was re-fronted in the mid-19th century and has a doorway with panelled jambs, large consoles supporting an entablature and pediment, and a six-panel door. The windows on the ground floor have eared architraves with a cornice, while the first floor features panelled jambs and a bracketed cornice. The second floor has eared architraves with a faceted key, all fitted with plate-glass sashes. Nos. 90 and 92 have thin brackets supporting their canopies and six-panel doors; No. 90 has eight-over-eight pane sashes, and No. 92 has six-over-six pane sashes in exposed frames.
Inside, No. 90 includes a through hall leading to the rear and a 20th-century dogleg stair. Additionally, there is an attached front area balustrade to No. 88.
