Description

A terrace of four houses at 16-19 Freeland Place, Clifton, built around 1825. The houses are stucco-faced with limestone dressings, featuring party wall stacks and a pantile hipped roof. They are arranged with a double-depth plan and are in a late Georgian style. The three-storey terrace, with an additional attic, presents a stepped facade with pilaster strips rising to a cornice and parapet. The right-hand doorways are semicircular-arched, with decorative raised surrounds, split keys, impost mouldings, fanlights, and six-panel doors featuring cut-out corners to the upper panels. The windows are predominantly 8/8-pane sashes, except for the third floor which has 4/8-pane sashes. Number 17 incorporates a bowed shop front dating from the early 19th century, with 28 panes of glass. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
