Description

A pair of late 18th-century houses located on Church Street, Poole. The houses were re-roofed around 1965. Constructed of brick with rubbed brick flat arches, they have a rendered plinth and a slate roof with brick stacks. The houses are arranged in a double-depth plan, with three storeys, an attic, and a basement. They have a two-window front. The right-hand doorways have round arches with panelled reveals and soffits, dentil cornices, and broken timber pediments above six-panel doors. Later 20th-century timber pilasters and batswing fanlights have been added to the doorways. The windows are mainly 6/6-pane and 3/3-pane sashes, with segmental-arched basement lights. There are two hipped dormers in the attic; the left one has a 3/3-pane sash and the right one has a mid-20th-century window. The interior has not been inspected. The houses form part of a group with No.2, with which they were formerly part of a terrace of three buildings.
