Description

The Poole School Cross War Memorial is a granite stone structure standing 2.57 meters high. It features a tall shaft on a plinth with a two-stepped base, topped by a Celtic cross. The north face of the plinth has an inscription in black-painted lettering that reads:

FINIS OPUS CORONAT/ TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF/ THE OLD BOYS OF POOLE SCHOOL/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 – 1918

The names of the fallen are inscribed on the south, east, and west faces of the plinth.
