Description
No. 10 Thames Street is a house that has been converted into a club, dating from the early 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork and is designed in a late Georgian style with a double-depth plan. The building stands three storeys high and has a two-window range. The original left-hand doorway has been replaced by a narrow sash window, and there is a parapet above. The ground-floor windows are 3/3-pane, the first-floor windows are 6/6-pane, and the second-floor windows are again 3/3-pane, all with rubbed brick flat arches.
Inside, the interior has been extensively altered but still retains substantial axial beams, which may be former ships' timbers. The building is connected internally with Nos 9 and 11. It previously featured a left-hand round-arched doorway with a re-set small pediment, egg and dart moulding, and a radial fanlight above a six-panel door. No. 10 is part of a single club along with Nos 5, 7, 9, and 11.
