Description
Quayside House, now a club, dates from the late 18th to early 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork, a pantile mansard roof, and hipped rear gables. The building has a double-depth plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a three-window range. The front has a parapet with a right-hand round-arched doorway that includes a radial fanlight and steps leading up to a six-panel door. There is also a prominent bow window with a reeded dentil cornice, a plain frieze, and architraves, along with reeded pilasters topped with patera. The first-floor windows are six-over-six pane sashes set under gauged brick segmental arches. The building has two hipped dormers with late 20th-century casements and a louvred opening in the basement. At the rear, there are two short three-storey wings with half-hipped gables. The interior has been extensively altered and is connected with Nos 10 and 11. Attached to the house are iron area railings with spear heads and orb finials. Quayside House is part of a single club that includes Nos 7 and 11.
