Description

This is an early to mid-18th century house located on St James's Close, Poole. It was formerly known as No. 14 West Street. The house is constructed of brick with moulded brick dressings, a brick gable stack, and a tiled roof. It follows a double-depth plan and has two storeys and an attic. The front facade features a two-window range. The building has a plinth and cogged brick eaves. A left-hand doorway has a canopy supported by scrolled brackets, an architrave, and a six-panel door with the top two panels glazed. Gauged brick segmental arches feature above a plate-glass sash window with margin bars on the ground floor, and above first-floor windows with eight-over-eight-pane sashes in flush frames. A hipped dormer is also present. The north wall has been rebuilt, utilising materials from a demolished adjacent house. The interior remains uninspected.
