Description
Brinsons Farm Farmhouse is an early 19th-century building located on the west side of Salisbury Road in Burton. The farmhouse features a red brick facade with a brick eaves cornice and a slate roof, and it stands two storeys tall. It has four windows, one of which is blank and positioned above the porch. The windows are early 19th-century casements with glazing bars and cambered head linings, and shutters have been added. There is a later wooden porch that is off centre.
Inside, the farmhouse contains an early 19th-century staircase, but it also retains an earlier fireplace and some late 17th-century to early 18th-century timber framing, particularly in the south wall.
Brinsons Farm Farmhouse is part of a group of buildings that includes Nos 105 and 107, the United Reform Church and Manse, Nos 125 and 131, as well as Nos 110-118 (even), the cartshed at Burton Green Farm, Dairy Cottage, St Luke's Parish Church, and The Sycamores on Salisbury Road. Additionally, No 1 Footners Lane and the wall at its entrance contribute to the character of the area. No 1 Footners Lane, No 131, Nos 116 and 118, and the cartshed at Burton Green Farm are noted as buildings of local interest.
