Description

Early 19th century, this is a large house, originally divided into two properties, and now converted into apartments. The facade is faced with Roman cement and features quoins, a cornice, and a panelled blocking course. The roof is hipped and covered in slate, with two dormers. The building has two storeys and five windows, all sash windows, with late 19th-century glazing and keystones. A central porch has a cornice, blocking course, and a round-arched doorway with a plain fanlight. The southern facade incorporates two angular bays and a ground-floor trellised iron verandah with a tented roof. A lower wing extends to the west.

This building forms part of a group of structures around Burton Green, which also includes the United Reform Church and Manse, several other properties along Salisbury Road, a cartshed at Burton Green Farm, a dairy cottage, St Luke's Parish Church, and a wall at the entrance to Footner's Lane. Some of these buildings are considered to be of local interest.
