Description
The South Barn at Bockhampton Farm is an 18th-century barn located on the south side of Bockhampton Road in Middle Bockhampton. It is constructed of red brick with grey headers and features brick buttresses and an eaves cornice. The barn has an old tiled half-hipped roof. There are double doors on opposite ends for former threshing, although the northern door has been altered to provide lower access to a modern building beyond. Inside, the roof trusses include Queen Posts and collars, with straight braces between the purlins and a pair of curved braces transversely between the collars of the trusses on either side of the door bay. The South Barn and Granary at Bockhampton Farm are part of a group of buildings.
