Description

Granville Chambers is a five-storey building with a basement, constructed around 1885 using Franco-Flemish red brick and buff terracotta. The entrance is located on the Yelverton Road side, sheltered by a shell-shaped hood. The building features mullioned and transomed windows with four-centred arched lights, which are framed by polygonal brick pilasters and terracotta cornices.

On the Yelverton Road side, there is a three-storey oriel window, while a polygonal oriel is positioned at the corner, and a two-storey bay with rounded corners faces Richmond Hill. Decorative terracotta sculptures include lions holding swags in their teeth beneath the corner oriel, an eagle corbel on the chimney breast, and fern-like foliage in the window spandrels. The main cornice is supported by fluted brackets, and there are two gables above it on the Richmond Hill side, although the attic at the corner has been altered. The basement area is enclosed by arched iron railings set on a stepped brick plinth.
