Description
The Read and Ansty monuments are two chest tombs located in the churchyard of the Church of All Saints, positioned 3 and 7 metres south of the tower. The Read chest tomb dates from the late 18th century and is made of limestone, featuring moulded panels on each side, swagged corner pilasters, a fluted entablature, and a slab with cyma recta moulding. The inscriptions on this tomb have eroded over time. The Ansty chest tomb has an earliest date of 1812 and is also constructed from limestone. It has two panels facing the church and one lozenge-shaped panel with florid script facing the churchyard. This tomb includes swagged corner pilasters and draped urns on each end face, along with a pulvinated frieze on the slab.
