Description

Sleight Farmhouse is a mid-19th century farmhouse constructed of rubble brought to courses, with freestone dressings and a concrete tile roof. It exhibits a picturesque arrangement of gables and dormers. The main facade is two storeys high with three windows. These are Tudor arch mullion casements, with two, three, and four lights, set under hoodmoulds incorporating Gothic tracery, found in eaves dormers flanking a gabled porch. A projecting right-hand gable features a first-floor four-light oriel. All windows are fitted with plain plastic sheeting (of macrilon). The rear elevation has two similar windows between expressed stacks and eaves dormers, and a flat-roofed 20th century extension. The building is distinguished by ornate bargeboards and different-coloured quoins, along with paired octagonal stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
