Description
Vale House is a house dated 1802, as indicated by the initials L/RJ inscribed on the building. It is constructed of ashlar with slate roofs. The house is three storeys high and has three windows on the front elevation. The ground floor features Venetian sashes flanking a doorcase with engaged Doric columns and a round fanlight. The first floor has sashes within architraves, and the second floor has nine-pane sashes treated similarly. Chamfered quoins are present, along with a heavy cornice and a coped parapet. A later, lower two-storey extension is situated to the right, featuring a pair of very ornate mock Chinese doors. The interior has not been inspected.
