Description

Church Farmhouse is a house of 17th-century origin, significantly altered and extended around 1800. It is constructed of rendered rubble with freestone dressings, featuring slate roofs and pantiles with stone eaves at the rear. The building is arranged in an L-shape. The two-storey main block has two windows with exposed box sashes, and incorporates a 20th-century door beneath a flat hood supported by brackets. A lower, hipped west wing has three windows with 16-pane sashes in plain architraves, a central door matching the main block, and a further window to the return. The rear of the west wing features one sash window, one margin-glazed sash, and a matching door. The rear of the main block has altered casement windows, and a single-storey gabled wing extends from the rear. Inside the main block are deep chamfered beams, a blocked inglenook fireplace, and a fine built-in dresser.
