Description

This is a pair of cottages located on Marksbury Bottom. They were likely built in the mid to late 17th century, and were raised, extended, and subsequently dated J/RL/1801. The construction is of coursed rubble, with double roman tile roofs featuring raised coped verges. The cottages are two storeys high and have a four-window facade. The ground floor windows are mullion casements with two or three lights, set under a continuous string course. There are two doors with edge-moulded lintels and jambs, each covered by a flat hood supported by brackets. To the far right is a plain plank door within a chamfered frame. The first-floor windows are two-light designs with edge-moulded mullions. The interior of the cottages has not been inspected.
