Description
The Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with pantile roofs featuring raised coped verges on kneelers. The building has an L-shaped plan and a symmetrical main block that includes a passage leading to a winder staircase. It stands two storeys tall and has three windows. The central gabled porch, added in the 19th century, is situated below a four-pane sash window. On either side of the porch are two-light casement windows with edge-moulded mullions. The west gable features two lights in the attic and reset fragments of a mullion, while the east gable has a single light with similar mouldings. At the rear, the roof extends over a central semi-circular stair turret that has single lights. There is also a single-storey wing at the back with a two-light window that has an ovolo-moulded mullion. Additionally, there is a single-storey flat roof extension from the 20th century on the east side. Inside, the property features chamfered beams.
