Wide-frontage house in short row, probably formerly two houses. Early C19. Ashlar, asbestos-cement slate front roof, pantile rear. Low front, altered at rear with two wide gables. EXTERIOR: Two storeys, four windows, plain sashes, with balconettes to first floor; the ground floor is blank to bay two, and in bay three has a four panel, part-glazed door under a wide gabled hood with barge-board, and with plastered cartouche and name ALPINE COTTAGE. Far right is a wide garage door. Moulded cornice, blocking course and parapet, ashlar stack, forward or ridge, to right of door. The rear has two gables with decorative barge-boards and applied timber-framing; the right half has plain sash to balconette, and the left a canted two storey bay with plain sash. INTERIOR: Not inspected.
