Description

A pair of houses built in the early 19th century, situated on Beechen Cliff Road. The houses are constructed of ashlar and have slate roofs. They are arranged symmetrically, featuring a recessed central entrance bay and a rear, parallel range extending across the centre. Each house has two storeys and originally featured two windows plus one to the front, all with plain sash windows. Blakeleys Cottage retains its original six-panel front door with a decorative transom light, flanked by shallow stone niches. Tresco Cottage has a six-panel, part-glazed door with side-lights and a transom light. A moulded cornice, blocking course, and parapet are visible externally, along with coped party walls and end stacks. The rear parallel range has coped gables, two windows to the returns, a prominent stone cyma eaves cornice, and eaves stacks. Single bays with plain sash windows are located on either side of the rear range. The interiors were not inspected.
