Description

This is an 18th-century shop with living accommodation above, altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The front is limestone ashlar, now painted, with a narrow return facade to the right and rear. The roof is hipped and parapeted, with Welsh slate to the front and Roman tiles to the left side. It has an ashlar stack with early clay pots at the apex of the roof and a brick stack rising from the rear wall.

The front has a single window on each of the three floors. The first floor window is a six/six sash with horns in plain reveals, a stone sill on console brackets, and a wrought iron balconette with a floating cornice on console brackets. The second floor has a similar sash without a cornice. The ground floor has a timber shop front dating from around 1900, with a two-light plate glass window to the right and a half-glazed door recessed to the left, with a single-pane overlight. There is a frieze and a moulded cornice above the shop front. The building has a moulded eaves cornice and a coped parapet. A three-pane window with a stone sill and console brackets is found on the return to the right. The rear elevation has four/four and plate glass sashes to the second floor, also with wrought iron balconettes. A large single-storey extension to the rear was added in the 20th century. The interior remains uninspected.
