Description
This summerhouse, located approximately 10 meters north of the north front of Southcot House, dates from the late 18th century. It is a small octagonal structure built from limestone ashlar with a steep conical roof covered in felt. The exterior features plain ashlar sides and three full-height plain openings on three facets facing west, which were formerly fitted with doors or windows. At the rear, there is a small square opening that was once framed and glazed. Inside, the summerhouse has a plain design, with a wood strip floor supported by joists. The original flooring was likely tiled or slated, and it may have had sash windows or French casements.
