Description
Widcombe Parade Nos 13 and 14 is a house that has been converted into a shop, located at the end of a row and returning to Millbrook Place. It was built in the 19th century and has had some alterations in the 20th century. The building is made of painted limestone ashlar and has a slate roof.
The structure is a plain block with a later 19th-century rear wing for No. 13. It stands three storeys tall with an attic and features two windows. The windows are plain sashes set in surrounds with small stopped-ovolo moulded jambs, and there are cast iron balconettes on the first floor. The ground floor has a full-width late 19th-century shopfront with narrow panelled pilasters, consisting of two large panes and one smaller pane with slender mullions, along with an off-centre glazed door and a shallow fascia topped with a dentil cornice. The building has a moulded cornice with a shallow blocking course and a parapet.
On the return side, there are two four-pane sashes at the first and second floors, along with two 20th-century doors and a window with a grille at the ground floor. The rear of the building features twin hipped roofs and four-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
