Description
The monument to Thomas Malbro is located in the churchyard to the southeast of the Church of St John the Baptist. This canopied chest tomb, dedicated to Thomas Malbro and his family, is dated 1853. It is constructed of ashlar in a Gothic style and features a base of three steps. The chest has panelled and traceried sides, topped with a cross. The canopy is gabled on all sides and adorned with crockets, ballflowers, and a cross at the apexes on the north and south sides, along with a weathered slab roof. The inner arch on the north and south sides is moulded and supported by short columns with foliate capitals and enriched spandrels.
