Description

The Skrine monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 2 metres west of the tower of All Saints Church in Dunkerton Village. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of freestone. The tomb features a pitched and moulded slab resting on a plain frieze, with mid and corner pilasters that are fluted at the ends and adorned with foliate decoration on the sides. The panels between the pilasters bear text, and the monument has a moulded base. The earliest legible date on the tomb is for Mary Skrine, from 178-.
