Description

The Church of All Saints is an Anglican parish church located in Dunkerton Village. The tower dates from the 14th and 15th centuries, while the rest of the church was built in 1859. It features a combination of ashlar, rubble, and freestone dressings, topped with slate roofs.

The structure includes a west tower, nave, chancel, and a south porch. The square, low tower has three small stages and diagonal weathered buttresses, along with a square, one-stage stair turret on the northeast side. The tower has a weathered pitched roof and a three-light west window with reticulated tracery under a hood mould. The second stage contains a single light, and the bell chamber, made of ashlar while the rest is rubble, has two louvred lights on each side, along with castellated parapets and corner finials.

The gabled nave has three bays, featuring two and three-light straight head Perpendicular windows under hood moulds with lozenge stops. The gabled chancel has a three-light pointed east window under a hood mould and two cusped single lights on each side. The south porch includes a pointed doorway adorned with fleurons.

Inside, the church has a plain interior with a moulded chancel arch that features fleurons and colonettes. The tower arch rises with engaged columns that have scallop capitals, leading to a chamfered arch. The stained glass is by Clayton and Bell.
