Description

Elm Hayes is a house dating from the late 18th century, with extensions and alterations made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar and rubble with freestone dressings, and has slate roofs. The house has two storeys and six windows, all sash windows set within raised and moulded architraves on cill bands. A 20th-century glazed door is centrally positioned to the left, and is topped by a round arch with a keystone, itself within a doorcase featuring a broken pediment on semi-engaged columns with leaf capitals. Quoins are present, and the roof is hipped with bracketed, oversailing eaves. A two-storey canted bay window is on the right return, featuring two-pane windows, followed by two windows matching the front facade. Two lower rear wings, each with two storeys, are also present. Two windows in the rear wings have sixteen-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
