Description

Fern Cottage is a house dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a slate roof with weathered, raised, coped verges. The building has two storeys and three windows, all of which are three-light designs with hollow moulded mullions beneath hoods, except for the centre first-floor window, which has two lights. Multi-pane casements flank inserted sashes. The central entrance is a 6-panel door from the 18th century, with the top two panels now glazed, set within ovolo-moulded jambs under a hood supported by brackets. The interior has been altered but still shows a chamfered beam.
