Description
The Village Clock Tower, dated 1897, is a Grade II listed structure located in East Harptree on High Street. It is built from squared, irregular coursed rock-faced sandstone with stone dressings, topped by a plain tile roof and wooden bargeboards, showcasing the Arts and Crafts style. The tower stands two storeys high, featuring a battered base and a projecting string course. A commemorative tablet is positioned beneath a circular clock face, which is set in a chamfered stone surround. The inscription reads: 'TIME FLIES DONT DELAY', with each word placed in separate spandrels. The gable is adorned with bargeboards and includes the wording 'HEAVEN'S LIGHT OUR GUIDE'. The clock tower is prominently situated at a street junction.
