Description
The Langford Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, just 1 metre south of the tower of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of freestone. The tomb features a flat moulded slab with inscriptions on gadrooned corner balusters, raised end panels, and large side cartouches adorned with paterae that also contain text. The earliest legible date associated with the monument is 1803, linked to Robert Langford.
