Description

This listing covers a wide raised pavement and steps, approximately 50 metres in length, that front Edgar Buildings. These steps continue the pavement that was formerly in place before numbers 13 to 18 George Street. Likely dating to the 18th century, they correspond with the construction of Edgar Buildings in 1761. The pavement and steps are built from pennant stone. The steps curve forward at the western end, with a higher elevation at that point. They run lengthways and decrease in height towards the road at the eastern end.
