Description
The archway between Number 20 and Number 22 on High Street in Keynsham is a carriage archway dating from the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of colourwashed limestone ashlar, featuring Blue Lias stone dressings around the arch and a slate roof. The structure stands two stories tall, with a round-headed archway on the ground floor and paired windows with segmental heads on the upper floor. The archway includes bases and imposts, and there is a sill band at the first floor level. The windows are plate-glass sashes. Above the windows, there is a sunken panel with illegible lettering that has been painted over. There is also a further archway on the rear elevation. This archway forms a group with Numbers 20 and 22, which includes the Conservative Club.
