Description
6 and 7 Dafford's Buildings are houses in an informal terrace, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with the first record of the street in 1794. They are constructed of limestone ashlar, with No. 6 featuring a concrete tile roof and No. 7 having a Welsh slate roof. The buildings have a narrow double depth plan with a doorway located to the left.
Both houses are two storeys and an attic high, with two windows. No. 6 has six-over-six sash windows in plain surrounds, a six-panel door with a small hood supported by brackets, a string course at the first floor level, a cornice, and a parapet. It also has two modern flat-topped casement dormers and a mansard roof with an ashlar chimney stack to the right. No. 7 mirrors No. 6 but has a single dormer and lacks a chimneystack. Additionally, No. 7 is stepped up from No. 6. The rear elevation was not inspected, and the interior has not been examined.
