Description
1 and 2 Brougham Place are a pair of houses dating from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed with painted render and have a pantiled roof. The houses are designed as double depth cottages, both featuring entrances on the left side.
The exterior consists of two storeys with two bays each. On the ground floor, No.1 has a modern part-glazed door to the left, while No.2 retains its original four-panel door with a rectangular light above it. Both houses have six-over-six sash windows with louvered shutters. Additionally, No.2 includes a later 19th-century small shopfront.
The first floor features a continuous verandah balcony under the main roof, with a timber trellis front and a balustraded rail. No.1 has a part-glazed door similar to its ground floor door, positioned above a window, while No.2 has a door and a six-over-six sash window. The roof projects forward over the balcony. The rear elevation has not been inspected, and the interior details are also not available.
