Description

This is a row of four houses, now converted into flats, situated on the corner of Trafalgar Road and Church Street in Weston. The houses date to the mid-18th century and have undergone alterations in the 20th century. They are constructed from limestone rubble with freestone dressings and quoins. The roofs are steeply pitched, with a mansard roof incorporating pantiles, along with 20th-century dormers and stone slates to the lower roof sections of numbers 29-31. One corner of the roof is hipped, with moulded stacks rising from the party walls and gable ends. The houses have a one or two-unit plan. Externally, they are two storeys and have attics. The windows and doors are 20th-century replacements. Number 28, the house on the left, has a pitched roof and a projecting range to its left side. Number 29 features an edge roll and a semicircular, lead-covered timber hood above the doorway. Number 31, positioned on the corner, has a timber lintel extending approximately 6 metres from the corner to the left, covering a window, and spans the right return, covering paired windows. The interiors have not been inspected.
