Description

The Abbey Cemetery Clive Tomb is a Gothic Revival memorial dedicated to John Henry Clive, who died in 1853. Erected in the same year, it features a cast iron five-pointed star adorned with roses and thistles, which stands on a base of four chamfered steps. Clive, who resided at Bathwick Hill and also lived in Hastings, is commemorated by this tomb, which is noted for its unusual material and distinctive design. The tomb is located in section V.A.1.2 of the cemetery.
