Description
1, 2, and 3 Perrymead Place is a house consisting of three apartments, originally part of Perrymead House, built in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed from limestone ashlar and has a slate roof.
It features three storeys and a basement, with a total of five windows on the front façade, all of which are twelve-pane sash windows. The windows on the left side are positioned close to the corner of the building. To the right, there is a glazed door with a deep transom light, followed by a second glazed door. A single bay unit, brought forward to the pavement edge, has a twelve-pane sash window above a blind opening. A platband runs along the first floor, and the eaves are supported by paired brackets.
The return front, which faces the service courtyard, has a double hipped end with two eaves stacks. It features a large twelve-pane glazed door leading to the landing, a smaller inserted light, and two flanking blind panels. The lower floor has twelve-pane sash windows and a glazed door with a transom light, situated beneath a 20th-century external staircase with solid balustrades. The basement includes a sixteen-pane sash window.
At the rear, there is a set-back hipped range with three long twelve-pane sashes that have margin panes.
Although the interiors have not been inspected, there are subsidiary features that include a coped ashlar boundary wall approximately 2 meters high to the left of the main front. This wall has a pair of plain square piers with square capping and pyramidal blockings, and it continues to the left to the front of the former carriage house.
