Description

The Abbey Cemetery Gill Tomb is a Grade II listed neoclassical monument dedicated to John Gill, who died in 1851. This three-stage tomb features a base made of pennant stone, with a middle section showcasing a marble relief of a broken column accompanied by a cut rose. Above this, there is a draped urn. The tomb is enclosed by Greek Revival cast iron railings. Additionally, it commemorates Louisa Cignac, the only child of Thomas Gill, who died in 1857. The tomb is located in section I.1.1.2.3 of the cemetery.
