Description

House of 1934-6, designed by Lubetkin and Tecton as part of a group of eight houses built in the International modern style. The brickwork is now rendered on a cement plinth, with a flat roof hidden by a cement coping. The house is two storeys high, with a two-window facade and a single window to the right. It features modern windows in the original openings, including two casement windows on the first floor with concrete window boxes, and a continuous window across the entire ground floor. A cement balcony is present on the ground floor. A round-headed doorcase, with a sweeping cement hood, is located on the side of the house. The interior retains the original half-elliptical staircase, and a half-elliptical chimney with a curved fireplace, featuring a black tiled surround and integral shelves. The group value of this building is recognised due to its architectural significance.
