Description

Firs Cottage is a 17th-century house that was restored in the early 20th century. It is a timber-framed building with the ground floor faced in red brick and the first floor tile hung, topped with a tiled roof. The house has two stories and four windows. A moulded cornice and a moulded wooden band run between the floors. The first floor features early 20th-century, three-light mullioned windows, while the ground floor has early 20th-century mullioned and transomed windows. An early 20th-century wooden porch, incorporating Palladian and Jacobean details such as round-headed arches, fluted columns, and Jacobean wooden balusters on sandstone piers, is positioned centrally. A panelled door gives access to the interior. The building has an end filleted brick chimneystack.
