Description
31 The Causeway is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys high and features four windows. The ground floor is finished in stucco, while the upper floor is tile-hung. The southernmost window bay is made of painted brick. The building has a moulded eaves cornice and a Horsham slab roof, with two bays on both floors. The windows are sash style, although the glazing bars are missing. The entrance features a six-panel moulded door set in a frame, topped with a flat hood supported by carved brackets. This building is part of a group that includes The Manor House, the Stables to the south, and Nos 24 to 31 (consecutive) on The Causeway, as well as Nos 1 to 7 (odd) on Blackhorse Way and all listed buildings in South Street. The listed buildings in The Causeway are considered an important group alongside those in Market Square and South Street.
