Description
St Leonards is a fine square mansion built in the early 19th century, featuring an L-shaped wing to the north and a stone tiled roof. The east front showcases a prominent central section that rises three storeys and includes three windows, topped with a cornice and a pediment that contains a round window flanked by decorative swags. Behind the pediment is a circular dome surrounded by an iron railing. The windows are set in moulded architrave surrounds, and the glazing bars remain intact. Flanking the central section are two-storey sections, each with one window, wide eaves cornices, and hipped roofs. A very wide square portico, which serves as a porte cochere, spans the entire width of the central part of the house, supported by coupled square and round columns at each corner, with a balustrade above forming a balcony. The north and south fronts mirror the central portion of the east front but are only the width of one window and topped with gables. The north wing features two storeys and five windows.
