Description
No. 8 South Street is a mid-19th century building that stands three storeys tall and features a stuccoed exterior. It has a string course above the second-floor windows and a parapet with consoles at both ends. The building is adorned with sash windows set in reveals beneath flat arches, and these windows have moulded frames with keystones at their centers. The sash windows are of a later 19th-century style, and all the glazing bars remain intact. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century fascia and a plate-glass shop front. No. 8 South Street is part of a group that includes Vicar's Hall and Crypt with Canon Gate, which encompasses Nos 8 to 25 consecutively.
