Description
No. 11 South Street is an early 19th-century building that forms part of a continuous frontage with Nos. 9 and 10, featuring a continuous cornice. The building has three window bays, with sash windows that have square heads and intact glazing bars, and upper windows equipped with louvred shutters. The ground floor includes a 20th-century fascia and a plate-glass shop front. The west front has a higher roofline than No. 10 and features a modern attic storey, topped with a slate mansard roof. The building is constructed of red brick with a rendered parapet and stands three storeys tall with an attic. There is one sash window on the second floor and one blocked window on the first floor, although much of the elevation is obscured by modern two-storey projections at both the north and south ends. No. 11, along with Vicar's Hall and Crypt, Canon Gate, and Nos. 8 to 25, forms a group.
