Description

This is an 18th-century building originally constructed as a single house, now two separate properties at 76 and 77 North Street. The building is constructed of red brick with a slate gabled roof and two flat-roofed dormers. It is three storeys high with an attic. Each property has two windows. The sash windows retain their original glazing bars, are set within flat arches, and have rubbed brick voussoirs (a wedge-shaped piece of masonry) above the first-floor windows. A stringcourse runs above the first floor. A small 19th-century shop front is present on the ground floor of number 76, while number 77 has a 20th-century plate-glass shop front and fascia. The building is part of a group that includes numbers 74 to 81 (inclusive), number 75A, and the former St Olave's Church.
